We know that the custody process can be confusing and seem overwhelming. Our attorneys are here to answer questions about understanding how to get to custody.
Types of Custody
There are two types of custody in Pennsylvania: legal custody and physical custody. Physical custody means who the child will live with or spend time with. Legal custody is what gives parents the right to make decisions on behalf of the child. You can find a list of commonly used custody terms on our Custody Resources page.
The costs for filing for custody may vary depending on your county, but if you cannot afford to pay the fees you can ask the court to waive them.
